An exciting field of 36 cars battle it out for victory. In the hypercar category Motul Powered Glickenhaus entry will fight to come out on top, while in the LMP2 category various Gibson powered units will fight out for the win. These vehicles will be running Motul 300V as their life blood in the engine’s and using a variety of Motul products to achieve success in some of the toughest racing conditions.
Question of the Month – Why does oil have to be changed?
We can use dish washing water as an example, the water itself does not go bad, however it will become contaminated and thus for a new load of dishes fresh water is need. Like water, the base oil part of the lubricant does not wear out, however the additive component does, and this part is responsible for many core functions such as reduce friction, protection, anti-wear, detergents and dispersants. These are all crucial for long term engine life and cleanliness. Over time these additives deplete and need to be replaced and external contaminates such as dust and water may find their way into the lubricant circuit which then need to be removed. For this reason, it is vital to adhere to the vehicle manufacturers drain intervals.
